Lake Harmony Ambulance was dispatched for a report of an elderly man down on the ice in the area of 124 South Lake Drive with a laceration to his head. Upon arrival, EMS called for Lake Harmony Rescue 17 to assist. The rescue crew along with the ambulance crew took the stokes basket onto the ice to load the patient, while the other EMT treated the patient. The crews on land then pulled the patient back to shore, while a 3-to-1 mechanical advantage was rigged up to assist in pulling the large patient up the embankment. Station 16 was called for a manpower assist. Once the additional manpower arrived, the patient was easily hoisted up the hill and placed in the ambulance, where he was transported to the hospital.
