Companies were dispatched to Interstate 80 West Bound at the 275.3 mile marker for a reported tractor trailer rollover with entrapment. The truck rolled on its side across both lanes of traffic. A passer by witnessed the crash, and his quick actions are credited with helping to avert a much more serious incident. With the trucks undercarriage facing the on coming traffic made it virtually invisible. The by stander grabbed a flashlight and waved down the on coming tractor trailer, preventing another crash. The two occupants of the truck were able to self extricate by kicking out the windshield of the truck. Both were transported to an area hospital. Rescue 17's crew secured the scene and contained a small spill and provided lighting and traffic control. Units were on scene for over 4 hours.
